Face lift Surgery
Most common cases of facelift surgeries is the natural aging process where different part of our body and face start sagging. Reasons responsible for the loss range from elasticity , tone and gravity. This include the folds and fat deposits appear around the neck, deep creases form between the nose and mouth.
What we must understand is that a face lift technically known as rhytidectomy, cannot stop the aging process. However what it does is to set back the aging clock, thus reducing the otherwise visible signs of aging by removing excess fat, tightening ,underlying muscles, and re arranging the skin of your face and neck. A facelift can either be done alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures such as a forehead lift, eyelid surgery, or nose reshaping.
Facelift Surgeries are broadly categorized into two -
1. Surgical Face Lift : Wherein the excessive loose & sagging skin from the cheeks and neck are worked on by incisions made around, above and behind the ears. The fascia on the muscles are tightened by lifting the skin around the cheeks and neck. The entire excessive skin is removed in a way such that the stitch is less than hairline thus hiding any clue of surgery.
(b) Non Surgical face lift :A younger look is given with the wrinkle lines are infiltrated with dermal fillers to ensure smoothening up the line & give the much wanted younger look.
Facelift Surgery - Procedure & Cost
The procedure for facelift would ideally vary from your choices of facelift from limited incision facelift or a neck lift. In a traditional facelift the incision begins at the hairline and proceeds to the temples, continues around the ear and ends close to the lower scalp. Once the incision is done the surgeon set free the skin from the underlying tissues to pull the skin up and back, this way the excess skin is removed. However, at times much deeper tissues is and sometimes a minor incision beneath the chin permits the removal of excessive fatty tissue for a more youthful result.
However another method to the typical cosmetic surgery facelift is where shorter incision is made at the temples and around the ear. However, you have to remember that Neck lift is to be chosen when there are loose neck skin and excess fat accumulation under the chin and that create problems. The neck lift incision often begins in front of the ear lobe and wraps around behind the ear ending in the lower scalp.
